Sylphx AI is one API in front of the models in [the catalogue](/ai/models).
You send one request shape, name a model by its id, and change the `model`
string to move between providers. One Sylphx key signs every call, and usage is
metered on the same account as the rest of Sylphx.

The base URL is `https://api.sylphx.ai/v1`.

## What it serves

<PropertyTable
	properties={[
		{
			name: 'Chat',
			type: 'POST /responses',
			description: 'The official OpenAI Responses document, with streaming, tools and stored responses. POST /chat/completions and POST /messages (the Anthropic Messages wire) are encodings of the same turn.',
		},
		{
			name: 'Embeddings',
			type: 'POST /embeddings',
			description: 'Vectors for one input or a batch. See Embeddings.',
		},
		{
			name: 'Images',
			type: 'POST /images/generations',
			description: 'Image generation with the image models in the catalogue. See Images.',
		},
		{
			name: 'Audio',
			type: 'POST /audio/speech, /audio/transcriptions, /audio/translations',
			description: 'Speech, transcription and translation, plus a realtime transcription session. See Audio.',
		},
		{
			name: 'Files',
			type: 'POST /files',
			description: 'Upload a file once and reference it from a request by its file id.',
		},
		{
			name: 'Catalogue',
			type: 'GET /public/models',
			description: 'Every model, with its limits and data policy. No key needed.',
		},
	]}
/>

## The catalogue is the list of models

The catalogue is read live from the API, so it is always the list the API
serves. It spans OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Qwen, Z.ai, DeepSeek, Moonshot
AI, MiniMax, Meta, Xiaomi MiMo and Inception models. List it with no key:

```bash
curl https://api.sylphx.ai/v1/public/models
```

Each row carries the `id` you send as `model`, the context window, the maximum
output and the data policy. [Model pages](/ai/models) show the same rows with a
ready-to-copy request for each model, and [the catalogue
reference](/docs/ai/catalog) explains every field. If you send an id the
catalogue does not list, the answer is `404 model_not_found`.

## Send your first request

```bash
curl https://api.sylphx.ai/v1/responses \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SYLPHX_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "model": "openai/gpt-5.5",
    "input": "Explain streaming in two sentences."
  }'
```

Keys start with `sylphx_sk_` and are created in the console; the key is shown
once. Any OpenAI SDK works when its base URL is `https://api.sylphx.ai/v1` and its API
key is your Sylphx key. [The quickstart](/docs/ai/quickstart) walks the call end
to end, including streaming and a retry-safe request.
